What Loan Modification Is
Loan Modification at The Final Loans is a negotiated restructuring of existing unsecured business debt. It is a separate service for existing business debt, not a new loan. The program is for clients with at least $20,000 in qualifying unsecured business debt and MCA obligations.
Our team reviews the existing obligations, works with the existing lenders to negotiate more manageable repayment arrangements, and administers the approved arrangement. The business then makes one payment to The Final Loans under the approved arrangement.
What Can Be Negotiated
Depending on the business situation and what the existing lenders agree to, negotiated areas can include:
- Payment frequency, such as daily payments changed to weekly or monthly
- The repayment term
- Interest or other charges
- Principal
- Other applicable terms
How It Differs From Debt Restructuring
Debt restructuring is a broad term for changing the terms of existing debt. Loan Modification is a specific, structured way of doing that for qualifying business debt, with The Final Loans negotiating on the business's behalf and administering the result.
How It Differs From Debt Consolidation
Debt consolidation usually means taking a new loan to pay off several existing debts. Loan Modification does not add a new loan. It works with the debt the business already has and seeks more manageable terms for it.
How It Differs From Settlement
Settlement generally refers to resolving a debt for an agreed amount, often in a single payment. Loan Modification focuses on making ongoing repayment more manageable through negotiated terms and one payment arrangement.
What It Does Not Cover
The current Loan Modification program is for qualifying unsecured business debt and MCA obligations. It does not apply to personal debt.
Fees, Timeline, and Documents
There is no fee for the program, and the typical timeline is 2 to 5 days. To apply, you need a completed application, the recent 3 months of business bank statements, and the agreements or contracts signed with previous lenders.
What to Expect
The final outcome depends on the participating lenders. The Final Loans cannot guarantee that a lender will accept every requested change. Any arrangement must be based on the terms actually agreed and documented.
